Surgical Retraction Control
Typical Use
Isolate, retract, or occlude vessels and ducts during surgery.
Description
Flexible silicone or rubber loops used to encircle, retract, or provide gentle traction on blood vessels, nerves, or ducts during surgical procedures to improve exposure and facilitate temporary control without crushing tissue. Vessel loops come in various colors and widths to aid identification and are commonly used in vascular, endocrine, and general surgery for atraumatic manipulation. Proper application avoids excessive tension that could compromise blood flow or nerve function, and loops are often secured with hemostats or clips for stability. Their atraumatic nature makes them valuable adjuncts for delicate dissections and for maintaining organized operative fields.
