Diagnostic Interventional Radiology
Typical Use
Deliver contrast and perform selective angiography of vascular territories.
Description
A catheter designed for selective catheterization of arteries or veins to inject radiographic contrast for diagnostic angiography or to serve as a conduit for interventional devices, with shapes and tip configurations tailored to specific vascular anatomies such as renal, mesenteric, or cerebral vessels. Angiographic catheters enable high resolution imaging of vessel lumen, stenoses, aneurysms, and collateral circulation and are used in planning and guiding endovascular therapies. Sterile technique, contrast dosing considerations, and careful manipulation under fluoroscopic guidance minimize risks including contrast nephropathy, vessel injury, and embolic events.
