Typical Use
Provide magnified exposure of the larynx for diagnostic and operative procedures.
Description
A rigid laryngoscope system used with an operating microscope to expose the larynx and vocal cords for precise microsurgical interventions such as lesion excision, biopsy, or vocal cord medialization, enabling delicate work on small structures with high magnification and illumination. Microlaryngoscopy requires general anesthesia with secure airway management and specialized instruments such as microforceps and micro scissors to perform fine dissection while preserving voice function. Postoperative voice rest, speech therapy, and monitoring for airway edema or bleeding are part of comprehensive care following microlaryngoscopic procedures. The technique is central to phonosurgery and management of benign and early malignant laryngeal disease.
